This band from Switzerland will be sure to rock your socks off with as much energy and almost as much crazyness as The Vines.
Jet. Also Austrailian, Jet have some proper good Alt Rock tunes, with some great riffs, some of their riffs are so great they match The Vine's riff's in coolness
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.BRMC have a really dirty a raw sound, much like The Vines.
The Subways.Also a trio, The Subways have as much as a mental sound as The Vines and also have just as mental live shows, main singer Billy Lunn is pretty much just a British Craig Nicholls.
Dirty Pretty Things.
To conclude, i think if you like The Vines then you would also like Carl Barat's band, Dirty Pretty Things who definatly have the same punk ethic as The Vines.
Meanwhile The Vines will be realsing a new album this year.

I have to say I really like all the bands of your list. But The Hives are definitely not from Switzerland. I'm Swiss and I would be very happy if they were too :) But The Hives are swedish; sorry^^
